Well I haven't been here in a while...such a long winter here in the north east! Been doing so much work on my Beacon Hill dollhouse (so close to done). Also have been working on a new Fairy Home, and for my wedding anniversary (Today) my DH bought me a brand new kit, the Vineyard, I am soo excited about this. Had it all set in my mind, I wanted it to be a gingerbread house/Santa's workshop...well then I opened it and it is screaming at me shabby chic..so now I am iffy about a shabby chic Christmas ginger bread house? I was thinking a very light pink for the outside with frosting like roof and trim...oh dear decisions?
So, this week it has at least bearable cold, so I crawled out from my blankie, (yes everyone has a favorite, at least here in the NE)and I made a few things for my etsy shop. Two items in the works and one I listed today! Yay! Hope you enjoy and please stay warm!

Preview: the witch's broom
So I am so excited to be posting this little number! It was quite a challenge to have a self standing broom, and at one point I had to walk away and had too take some time off from it but I did it!!!! And I absolutely love saying that!
I would also like to thank my new followers ..I hope you enjoy your visits here.
Tonight I will be posting this little upscale witch's broom in my Etsy store along with a few other little things I have been working on. I really was looking for something different than just the plain miniature brooms we see so many of. If you have a minute please let me know what you think.

It's The Witching time again...my favorite time of the year!!
I love the fall, and so far this fall has been awesome. Sept. was sooo beautiful, cool crisp days and wonderful days for those afternoon siesta's. Shhhhh...:)
Halloween is one the best holiday of all I think...no hassles but yet you can decorate and dress up in silly costumes! I love hearing the grand kids get sooo excited about their costumes, and parties!
I also love the fairs, and baking apple pies...the anticipation of Thanksgiving...oh I am soooo looking forward to that turkey! So to celebrate this holiday and season, I wanted to share with you some new minis I've been working on. Hope you en joy them!

Back from Kansas??????
First I would like to say is thank you to my new followers, I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!
Yes you heard me right back from Kansas, took a very long train ride to visit my son and 3 grandchildren, David, Madison and Stirling (twin 10 year old identical twins). David is 8 and of course the apple of grandmas eye! while I was there the girls only got grandma confused once..with the "I'm not Madison I'm Stirling" thing and we did find out David was accepted in the gifted program in his school! Grandma and Dad were so proud! Now though I am a little insecure about it...hope he does well...because it would bother him terrible!
My son really did out do himself this year,,,we were really on the go, movies to see the new 3D monster inc. movie, Science City, a water park, chunky cheese...so much fun to do all that with them..but all good things come to an end...so last week I boarded my train for the very long ride home.
Now though I find I am really having a hard time getting back into my routine. I did reopen my Etsy store, and I hope writing this will help ease me back into things.
The really good news though, is when I was away I took too my old love of crocheting...of all things...I started crocheting baby things...made like 3 blankets, little hats,
booties..now I am really giving thought to opening a second Etsy store with Crochet baby items.
Well we will see...maybe if I post some pics here some of you could give me your thoughts on what you think on my things...?
Do have to run...have a blessed and great day!

I am So Excited
Well I did do some mini work this weekend, but that is not what I am so excited about. I have been waiting and waiting for Greenleaf to come out with their spring fling 2013, but nothing yet. But....when I went to their forums this am I found another 2013 contest! Miniatures.com has one! So as I looked at the little starter you begin with my mind almost came undone thinking of ALL the wonderful possibilities!
So of course I did it!!! I ordered it!! Now it's the long wait for delivery, oh I know it won't take long...but it will seem like forever! Of course I can't tell about my ideas..but you will defiantly see pictures when it is complete!
Meanwhile here is what I did this weekend! Hope you enjoy!

Simple but Sweet
This little tray and pitcher was such a joy to make, simple but sweet! These trays I purchased on Ebay a while ago, I bought a "lot" of them unfinished. Seeing these pitchers on line in all sorts of colors and finishes, I searched and searched for "where to buy miniature dollhouse water pitchers" to no avail. So then I came upon how to make dollhouse miniature flower containers and bingo! I found them! I make them with card stock, then either paint or paper them my chosen color! I think they just are so pretty with the trays! So the pattern comes in three different scales! Very easy...hope you enjoy! http://miniatures.about.com/od/dollhouseprintables/ss/flowercontainers.htm

This Week
What a week, sitting in front of the news for the whole week, wanting to work on minis...but just having to watch. Staying up all night on Thursday..just to see.Feeling everything from anger to sadness, trying to believe the unbelievable. From Boston to Texas...this is America. An America that has endured so much this past week.
I heard one of Krystle Campbell's family members say he was glad suspect 2 was captured.."but it won't bring her back". Now as a step mom of a son killed in Afghanistan, I feel I can relate. It doesn't matter, not who did the bombing, not how, not why..it just doesn't. What matters is that your loved one is gone. No one, now where, no how, can bring that person back.
So America will move on...we will be forever keep this week tucked away in out collective consciousness..as we do 9/11. We will forever remember the firefighters that died in Texas, the police in Boston...all of them..all the heroes. The families left behind will go on, never the same, ever wondering what would be, if this didn't happen....the rest of us we will pray for them, always keeping them close to our hearts.
America..will be fuzzed together again for the week of tragedy..forever...

So I made this little sweet board this week, and it took me forever to make the little sign! Now I know there are a lot of techies out there that would be laughing at me now....but this took alot of time and remakes, to figure out how to do it. I use the program snagit to edit my pictures and that's where I made it. Hope you enjoy looking :)

I am just so happy today, finally in the Northeast the sun is out and my windows are open!!!! After such a long winter this is a good anted to thing!
So today I wanted to share this little pantry that I sold on Etsy. It is one of my favorite pieces I've made. I sold it to a sweet, sweet person from Tx.
Growing up, I had a wonderful aunt...she had a pantry like this, and it was the highlight of my day to run next door to my Aunt's house and open the pantry doors to see what was hidden. Now that I am all grown and I have to watch the waistline and try to eat healty..it's hard to believe all those goodies were not good for me. Ahh that's ok though..the memories beat the bad effects of the sweet goodies!!!

So...today was a day for wanting summer to be here. Thinking about the pool the garden, going to Kansas to visit my son and grand babies :). Sooo I have created this little summer set. Thinking of farmers markets, and fairs..this is what I came up with. The Lemonade was a little hard, I used liquid nails colored with food coloring, then I put pieces of lemons in there, then i blew bubbles in with a baby medicine suringe!

So after a very long winter so far, I am finally back to work on my minis. It all started back around Dec. 6th....by Dec. 12 my dear husband was in the hospital having surgery. Open heart surgery no less. Now I know they do by pass surgery everyday..but NOT on my husband they don't. So to say the least..we didn't have much of a holiday this year....but at least he is still here with us. He was VERY sick and even the Doctors said if he didn't go in when he did..he may not be here today. So I'm very grateful for the gift I did get :) He is still very sore still, but doing well at this point. My sister in laws were a blessing...everyone was very good to us during this trying time..so I would like to thank everyone. You know even when your only the caregiver..it leaves you feeling very vulnerable. So I have been fighting alot of different feelings lately, but tonight I put together this little Valentine Cookie Set which brought back some normalised emotion..hope you enjoy!

So today here in Ct. was a very rainy day. The rain just fell in sheets, the way it was coming down you just knew that will be snow coming down like that in a couple of months. It is also the 1 year anniversary of last year's Oct. snowfall that left us with no power for a complete week. Lol and I remember how I cried when it finally came back on, one week to the day.
So although I had no intentions on working on minis today, I really could not clean, being I have three little dogs..and they run in and out all the time, I said no cleaning today, just will have to clean it over tomorrow. So I though I share what I did do today. Hope tomorrow is better :)
